The Longest Morning

When we were planning and finding flights to Peru leaving LAX at 12:30 was a great idea.  Unfortunately that meant we had to leave Carlsbad at 6:30 AM.  We were worried about traffic, accidents, turning in a rental car, and more recently long lines at security and TSA screening. Well because we planned so well we were able to stop at Starbucks before getting on the road.   All in all we left a meare 10 minutes late but got the rental turned in by 8:15. Tim the “van driver” pre paid gas so it was a smooth drop off.

Through ticketing and to TSA.  No line quicker than San Diego. Through TSA and only Tim had a bag check to look at his contraband liquid creamer but good news they just wanted to look. Off to breakfast because we are on the way to the gate and it is 3 hours prior to flight time.

On the plane and Don is asleep before the door is shut, Blanca is busy talking to the lady next to her in Spanish learning all about her life story, Tim is reading the safety info, Patti is stretching and clearly the smartest of all of us.  After sitting on the plane for six hours I for one and ready to get off And there is still 3 hours to go!

Now into the cab, all the luggage and the 6 of us.   Some of us are not light packers, wonder who??
By the time check in is done it is now almost 2am local time and we are meeting for breakfast at 9. Good thing our bodies and mind are 3 hours ahead of time so it is only 11pm and everyone up since 5.
