After breakfast to clear our heads we talked with the concierge, obtained a map and walked to the Park of the Olive Trees. It is really a pretty little park lots of olive trees, a kids play area, and even some places with water. The walk gave us a chance to stretch our legs and see a little of Lima at least near the hotel. Not to mention the traffic and driver behaviors. What is surprising is there are very few accidents although lots of cutting in and out of traffic. It is similar to driving in Tijuana or a busy street in Thailand. On the walk we were able to stop for frozen yogurt and view the cultural center. Some thing tells me even though my fit bit had 16000 steps for the day I will still have the dreaded scale move to the up numbers.
One thing about traveling with friends is sharing. Blanca who is our Marriott Corporate employee arranged all the hotels and spoke with tour guides to come up with the amenities. She is also the good will ambassador of our group and is able to learn your life story after sitting next to her for 10 minutes weather a taxi driver or shop keeper. She is also great to share her positive feelings when dealing with the staff at each of the locations we have stayed at.
As I continue I think we will add a quote of the day. Todays quote took place in the private car on the way to the market. Patti telling both Dan and Tim she will be all over both of them. You will have to figure out what she was talking about
